Member of the european parliament and Renew Europe coordinator on the committee on the environment, climate and food safety

Pascal Canfin is a French European Parliament MP. He is a member of the Europe ensemble delegation and the Renew Europe group.
Former chair of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (2019-2024), he was one of the main architects of the European Green Deal. He is now the coordinator of the Renew Europe group within this committee. He is also a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.

Mr Canfin was Director General of WWF France from 2016 to 2019. He was Head Counselor for Climate at the World Resources Institute (WRI) from 2014 to 2015, ahead of COP21 in Paris, and co-chaired the Commission for climate financing innovation.

He was delegated Minister for Development, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2014 after having served as a European member of parliament from 2009 to 2012 as part of the French Les Verts (Ecological) party.

Previously he held various financial research positions, following a stint in M&A and two periods covering the automotive sector.

Head of the Institut Mutualiste pour l’Environnement et la Solidarité (Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale)

Laurent Berger is a leading figure in French and European trade unionism. After studying history, he worked as a job counsellor and quickly became involved in trade unionism within the Confédération française démocratique du travail (CFDT), one of France's largest trade unions.

He joined the CFDT in 1996, working on issues related to employment and youth. He gradually rose through the ranks of the union, becoming Secretary General of the CFDT in 2012, a position he held until 2023. Under his leadership, the CFDT established itself as the leading trade union in France. Mr Berger has focused on issues such as labour, pension reform, the fight against social inequality and the strengthening of social dialogue between trade unions, employers and the government. From 2019 to 2023, he was the president of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).

In September 2023, he joined the banking and insurance group Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale, to spearhead the creation of a centre of expertise on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. Since its operational launch in March 2024, Laurent Berger has headed the Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale’s Institut mutualiste pour l'environnement et la solidarité (Mutualist Institute for the Environment & Solidarity), whose mission is to implement the group's ESG ambitions based on the Institute’s expertise, while ensuring the consistency of action and coordination of all stakeholders. The aim is to support all business lines and elected members in these environmental and solidarity-based transformations, in the service of the group's customers.

Since April 2025, he has also been Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIC Ouest.

Dr. Luc JULIA, Chief Scientific Officer for Renault, was CTO and Senior Vice President of Innovation for Samsung Electronics, directed Siri at Apple, was Chief Technologist at Hewlett-Packard and cofounded a number of start-ups in the Silicon Valley. While conducting research at SRI International, he was involved in the creation of Nuance Communications, now the world leader in speech recognition.

Recipient of Légion d’Honneur, the highest order of France, and member of its National Academy ofTechnologies, he holds degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from theUniversity Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris and earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Paris.

Nathalie Keller began her career at Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale in 1998. In 2006 she was named Head of Permanent Control for CM-CIC Securities.

In 2012 she became Head of Custody, where she also oversaw the UCI Custody business (Asset custody, Control, Cash monitoring).

Since 2019, she has been Head of Custodian Solutions at CIC Market Solutions, the commercial management of CIC's market activities. She is in charge of an Asset Servicing division that includes custody account-keeping, the mutual fund custodian business and the Buy Side Desk. CIC Market Solutions is a leader in the independent portfolio management segment.

Using concrete examples from the automotive and healthcare industries, we will be talking to Luc Julia (Chief Scientific Officer at Renault and co-founder of SIRI) about the technological hurdles, economic contributions and constraints, cultural and ethical biases and social implications of AI.
